Plague Journal, Day 82: Prayerful Protest Photo Essay

More than 70 churches organize a “prayerful protest” at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Brooklyn, marching from Park Slope Christian Tabernacle to the 78th NYPD Precinct to Barclays Center to Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus. It’s by far the largest demonstration in the five days of protest I’ve witnessed, blending seamlessly with earlier marches from Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights: more than 15,000 people, I estimate. Marchers were peaceful, energetic, and looked like the population of Brooklyn. I took photos.
